Stationary Subscription Box: Under The Rowan Tree’s

Under the Rowan Tree’s is a little independent craft and stationery online store that I’ve posted about a few times. The store was founded by Danielle Stanley, a self admitted stationery addict. I first found her on Etsy and I’ve purchased many rolls of washi tape and planners and journals alike. Her stock choice is always on point and the more I’ve purchased and loved from her the more I want to buy from her. It’s definitely become addictive. But this time, I want to talk to you about her subscription box service because, well, guess what? I love that too.

Danielle creates a themed stationery box to ship each month around the 21st of the month. She sources fun and individual bits and bobs to create an amazing stationary subscription box. Since I’ve subscribed I’ve had some brilliant bits, including a little book to keep track of what I’m reading, washi tape, fun cards, pens, stickers and all sorts. The contents definitely make the box worth the money.

June’s theme was Rainbows, the box included:

  • Rainbow Journal Stencil by Oops a Daisy
  • Rainbow Stickers from MTO Stickers
  • Tombow Twintone Marker
  • Spotty Washi Tape
  • Striped Washi Tape
  • Gift Wrap
  • Greetings Card
  • Novelty Rainbow Pen
  • July Calendar Page

I adore receiving my box each month, it gives me a little bit of joy as I unbox it and discover the goodies that await me; all beautifully packed into the box, wrapped in purple tissue, it feels like opening a gift. I absolutely adore the washi tapes and am loving the stencil too. I am saving the greetings card and wrapping paper for a special event and I’m saving the rest for some creative fun, and I will admit, now I’ve tried one of the twintone TomBow markers… I want the set!

Aside from amazing products, Danielle provides nothing short of brilliant customer service and clearly really cares about her customer base. She has helped me out a few times and I know she is the first person who would want to fix an issue.

I had a bit of a chat with Danielle about how she picks the themes for boxes each month and why she decided to do her own subscription box. Danielle has been running the subscription box for a little over two years now to share her love of stationary and in her words, to send people a box of happiness each month. She went on to tell me how she chooses the themes:

Themes for stationery box are chosen in a variety of ways depending on when inspiration hits! Some are because they are favourites of mine e.g. peacocks and reading, others are inspired by the comments of other stationery addicts or contributions to polls in my Facebook group. I try to keep themes as general as possible so they can be enjoyed by everyone young and old alike. I’m always open to suggestions but usually plan at least three months ahead so I have time to source the box contents to make sure it’s perfect.

If you think you might be interested in checking it out, Danielle offers several different subscription offers including just a one off box great to test the water or – even as a gift for a friend. Or, you can set up a sub for upto a year, oh and if you get in quick you’ll be able to nab next months box which is circus themed! I already can’t wait. Click here to view the subscription packages and sign up!

I definitely think that Danielles hard work pays off. The boxes come beautifully packaged and fit through the letterbox so there’s no need to be in to receive it, and means when you get home, you come home to a little box of joy if you are as stationery mad as me!
